Introduction to Zara’s 50th Anniversary

Zara celebrates its 50th anniversary with a new video featuring 50 iconic models who have shaped the fashion industry. Legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel shot the campaign, which includes models such as Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Twiggy, Christy Turlington, Eva Herzigova, Paulina Porizkova, and Penelope Tree.

The Anniversary Campaign

Throughout the video, the models sing and dance to the 1977 Disco Classic ‘I Feel Love’. Each model wears pieces from the 50th-anniversary collection, designed by Karl Templer, which revolves around monochrome classicism and the timeless attraction of tuxedo dressing. The collection includes streamlined silk skirts, tailored pants, roll-neck tops, and blazers that embody the brand’s recognized timeless aesthetics.

The 50th Anniversary Collection

The anniversary collection offers clothing without anniversary logos, ranging from essential pieces to statement items. In addition to the clothing line, Zara has also launched a T-shirt featuring the 50 models from the campaign photo. The collection is a tribute to the brand’s five decades of bringing high-end fashion to the masses.

History of Zara

Zara was founded by Amancio Ortega, who opened the first store in Galicia, Spain, on May 9, 1975. The brand expanded to the UK in 1998, with its first store on London’s Regent Street. Today, Zara operates 5,815 stores in 98 countries and ships to 214 markets online. Amancio Ortega, now 89, is the ninth richest individual in the world, with a fortune of $114.4 billion.

Timeless Classics

The memorial collection includes timeless classics such as tank tops, crisp shirts, and oversized tuxedo jackets, priced between £17.99 and almost £200. According to Marta Ortega Pérez, daughter of the brand’s founder, "Creativity is the heart of Zara – it is the feature that defines us." The campaign is an expression of creative freedom and the magic that Zara always wants to create.

Celebrating 50 Years of Fashion

The campaign features 50 of the world’s leading models, celebrated for their beauty, characters, individuality, and strength. It is a testament to the brand’s enthusiasm, talent, and limitless creativity over the past five decades. The collection and campaign are a tribute to Zara’s legacy and its continued influence on the fashion industry.
