What’s Happening This Week

This week, Molly-Mae returns to our screens with the second part of her TV series "Exclusive Access" which promises to give us a glimpse into her life. But that’s not all that’s happening this week. BBC Three’s "I Kissed a Boy" is back for its second series, Sir David Attenborough’s new film "Ocean" is being released on his 99th birthday, and PinkPantheress is dropping a new album.

Molly-Mae: Behind the Scenes

At the beginning of this year, Molly-Mae Hague broke her silence after she was apparently photographed with her ex, Tommy Fury. Before her new TV series, "Molly-Mae: Behind It All", she made some comments at a press event. She told reporters that she and Tommy, who announced their separation last year, are "finding out as parents and as adults" and added that the situation is "really complicated". So, what can we expect from part two of her documentary series, which starts on Prime Video on Friday? We’re told that after the "media rush" that surrounded the photo, we’ll see the former lovebirds living their "dreams" on the Paris Fashion Week. But the series will also show how difficult she’s finding life at home. Cameras will show her making "life-changing decisions" and taking a trip to rebuild her family.

I Kissed a Boy Returns

On Sunday, the first gay dating show in Great Britain, "I Kissed a Boy", returns to BBC Three. Dannii Minogue returns to the Masseria in her role as a cupid, while the series is hosted by Layton Williams. The format sees 10 singles matched and introduced for the first time – with a kiss to test their chemistry. From then on, you can expect love triangles, blossoming romances, wandering eyes, and a lot of drama. Pop star Minogue said she’s excited to tell "more diverse and important stories" and added: "I’ll be starting the party for a wonderful summer of love".

PinkPantheress’ New Album

Last August, PinkPantheress canceled all her remaining tour dates – including lucrative support slots with Coldplay and Olivia Rodrigo – to focus on her health. "I’ve reached a wall that I couldn’t penetrate," she said in an explanation to fans. But she’s used the downtime well. The 23-year-old’s new mixtape is accessible, hypnotic, and seductive old pop. She’s been teasing the project since January when she posted photos from her home studio: "Oh, we’re soooo back #2025". When she spoke to Mixmag, she said that "Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada" "The Size of Music" inspired it. But it’s another dance band whose DNA is sprinkled all over the EP. Basement Jaxx get writing credits on four of the five tracks, with PinkPantheress nodding to classic 2000 dance hits like Romeo and Good Luck.

Happy Birthday, Sir David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough will be 99 on Thursday – and on the same day, his new pioneering film "Ocean" will be released in cinemas. The documentary promises to take viewers on a "breathtaking journey" through the seas and oceans of the world and show their vital importance for our survival. With underwater footage, it examines the biggest threats to our oceans, from destructive fishing techniques to mass pollution. But it also offers a deeply personal message, with Sir David emphasizing the opportunity for us to make a change. "After living on this planet for almost 100 years, I now understand that the most important place on this planet is not on land, but at sea," he tells viewers.

Other Highlights This Week

  • "Eurovision 2025: When Graham Met, Remember Monday" will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday
  • The Norwich & Norfolk Festival starts on Friday
  • Bassline Symphony, part of Bradford City of Culture, takes place on Friday
  • "Long Way Home" premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday
  • The Kooks’ new album, "Never/Know", is also released on Friday

Note: A previous version of this article incorrectly reported the release date for the game Sonic Rumble as May 8th. However, on April 30th, Sega announced that the release had been postponed indefinitely.
