Introduction to Kylie Jenner’s New Venture
Kylie Jenner is venturing into music. On Monday night, Terror Jr released “Fourth Strike,” a single featuring Jenner’s vocals. The track is a sequel to Jr’s 2016 song "3 Strikes," which Jenner appeared in the music video to promote the launch of her Kylie Cosmetics glosses that same year.
Background and Inspiration
The song is also still often associated with her outlandish alter ego known as "King Kylie." After the song was released, the beauty mogul came forward on Instagram to share a carousel of photos and videos of herself recording and listening to the song. In "Fourth Strike," Jenner’s verse comes from her rapping the lyrics, "One strike, two strike, let me set the right mood. Do it on purpose just to see how it ends." She ends it by whispering “King Kylie.”
Kylie Jenner’s Career
Jenner is best known for her appearances on the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians and in the beauty world, where she founded Kylie Cosmetics, now valued at more than $1 billion.
Expanding Her Brand
However, music isn’t the only thing she’s expanding her brand into. Last week it was announced that Jenner would be making her acting debut in Charlie XCX’s upcoming film, The moment. Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Rachel Sennott and Alexander Skarsgård also star in the project. While the news came as a surprise to many, Jenner had previously been vocal about her desire to pursue acting, as it was a storyline in a season 7 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The film is scheduled to hit theaters next year.
