It checks, after a few years of anticipation, it is for some of Milan’s megabrands this season with a designer debut. Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Jil Sander, and Versace are set to keep a lot of attention.
Expectations for Milan Fashion Week
"This season there is a real feeling of excitement for the Milan Fashion Week (MFW), especially for all designer debuts," says Brigitte Chartrand, Chief Kauf- und Merchandising officer from Net-A-Porter. "I am not only looking forward to the collections themselves, but also to the staging and production that seem to be more creative every season."
Schedule and Participants
MFW will contain 55 physical shows and 67 presentations this season, including the above-mentioned debuts and main supports such as Prada, Fendi, Ferragamo, and Dolce & Gabbana. David Koma will stage his second show in Blumarine. And several labels, including Boss, Calcaterra, Federico Cina, Stella Jean, and The Attico, will return to the calendar after one or two seasons.
Tribute to Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani will complete the week in an emotional show after the death of his founder at the beginning of this month. "This edition of the Milan Fashion Week will be remembered in memory of one of the founding numbers, Giorgio Armani," says Carlo Capasa, President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI). "His legacy – creative, entrepreneurial and human – remains invaluable in these transformative times for fashion, in which vision, quality and coherence are the basic values."
