Spain’s Popularity Among Tourists Continues to Grow
Spain is one of the most popular holiday destinations among Europeans. By August 2025, the country saw a significant increase in international tourists, with more than four percent more visitors compared to the same period in 2024. Additionally, these tourists spent around seven percent more on their vacations than in the previous year.
Increased Prices for Accommodations and Hospitality
The cost of accommodations and hospitality in Spain has risen substantially. Prices for campsites increased by 10.1 percent, while apartments saw a 14.4 percent rise. Hotel prices also surged, with a 14.6 percent increase compared to three years ago. Furthermore, the cost of food has gone up by around 9.5 percent. As a result, tourists can expect to pay 20 to 25 percent more for their stay and food overall.
A Broader Trend of Rising Holiday Costs
Spain is not the only country experiencing a significant increase in holiday costs. This year, holidays have become more expensive in general. The average travel amount per person has risen by 3.9 percent, and 3.2 percent per booking. According to experts, the main reason for this increase is inflation, which has driven up the cost of travel and accommodations.
