Eurobasket 2025 Final

The world champion Germany defeated Turkey 88-83 and won the Eurobasket 2025 final in Riga on Sunday. Turkey led most of the game, but Germany resigned, with captain Dennis Schröder scoring the last six points.

Key Players

Schröder, who plays for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA, ended the game with a total of 16 points and 12 templates. He was also appointed the most valuable player in the tournament (MVP). The former Los Angeles Laker Isaac Bonga was the top scorer in Germany with 20 points.

Reaction from the Team

"You recognize how hard you work for it. As a child, you dream of beating these baskets in such a game," Bonga told RTL. Ingo Weiss, President of the German Basketball Association, said: "It was unbelievable. The boys really wanted it and fought to the end. Everyone fights for each other. The team is the star."

Germany’s Basketball History

The men’s team recently won the Eurobasket in 1993, which is also generally referred to as the European basketball championship. They reached the final in 2005. With this win, Germany becomes a two-time European basketball champion.

Congratulations from Government Officials

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier took part in the final in the Latvian capital. Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz congratulated the team on the "sensational performance" and said, "We are proud of you, you are an inspiration for young athletes."
