Introduction to PD-168

About two years ago, Peter Do had a revelation. Perhaps it was time for him to step back and let his brand take center stage. "I never wanted to be the face of Peter Do," he says. "I always wanted the focus to be on the codes of what I do."

The Concept Behind PD-168

The ‘PD’ in PD-168 is obvious, but the ‘168’ represents the number of hours in a week. This gives a hint about the direction Peter Do is heading: a functional, practical, and intelligent collection of around 20 pieces. The collection is athletic, adaptable, gender-neutral, and inspired by modular quotes.

The Collection

The all-black collection includes jackets, route pants, t-shirts, shirts, and tanks, as well as an asymmetrical folding skirt and a shoulder coat. There is also a slightly padded blazer, similar to a tuxedo, but suitable for hiking. The prices are relatively modest, ranging from $110 for a tank to around $850 for the coat or chunky leather boots.

Fabrics and Washability

Peter Do used only three fabrics: super-soft cotton Terry, a jersey with a delicious drapey tactility, and a liquid satin developed in Japan. The liquid satin is a modern silk that can be washed. In fact, all the clothes in the collection can be machine-washed.

Personal Uniform

PD-168 allows Peter Do to create a personal uniform based on what he has discovered as a designer. He feels more confident and concise with this collection. Everything comes from the question: "What do we need? How do we reduce things to a few pieces that you can wear throughout the day?" The collection is available for purchase on the e-commerce part of the website, with a new collection updated annually.

Availability and Pop-up Store

The collection will be available for purchase on the website, and there will be a pop-up store on the Lower East Side in collaboration with Komune. The pop-up store will feature pieces from the collection, which are suitable for any gender. Peter Do’s inspiration for the collection includes a vintage white cotton shirt he picked up in London’s Portobello Market.
