Introduction to the Feud

The Trump administration has found itself in yet another feud, this time with renowned musician Jack White, who expressed his disapproval of the President. The controversy began when Jack White criticized Trump’s redesign of the Oval Office, describing it as "vulgar, gold leaf and gaudy."

Background of the Controversy

Jack White’s criticism of the Oval Office redesign sparked a reaction from the Trump administration, which referred to him as a "washed-out, has-been loser." In response, White stated that Trump "canceled democracy" and expressed his concern over various issues, including Trump’s "blatant fascist manipulation of government," "gestapo ice tactics," and "racist remarks about latinos, native Americans, etc." White emphasized that his initial comment was about the decor of the Oval Office and not a personal attack.

White’s Statements on Trump

White has been vocal about his contempt for the Trump administration, stating that Trump is "a danger not only for America, but for the whole world." He believes that Trump, as a Christian, lacks empathy and camouflages himself as a person with actual empathy. White’s criticism of Trump extends to his design of the White House, which he describes as a "showy" and "vulgar" display of wealth.

Trump Administration’s Response

The Trump administration responded to White’s criticism through the White House communication director, Steven Cheung. Cheung labeled White a "washed-out loser" who has a career in social media due to his lack of success in the music industry. Cheung stated that White does not appreciate the splendor and meaning of the Oval Office and is not respectful.

White’s Music Career and Previous Feuds

Jack White, who will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the White Stripes in November, is not new to feuding with the Trump administration. In the past, he sued Trump for unauthorized use of the song "Seven Nation Army." White has also sold T-shirts with anti-Trump messages, including one that reads "Icky Trump." Other musicians, such as Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé, have also faced criticism from Trump for their political views and performances.

White’s Reaction to the Feud

In a recent Instagram post, White referred to the Trump administration’s criticism as "an honorary badge." He emphasized that he is not a Democrat, but rather a person who cares about the well-being of the country and its people. White described himself as an artist who has had his own businesses, including an upholstery shop and a recording label, and has enough street sense to recognize a "cheap grifter and a thief" when he sees one.
