Introduction to the Film

The New York Film Festival (NYFF) is set to premiere a new comic drama film starring Bradley Cooper, Will Arnett, and Laura Dern. The film, directed by Cooper, will have its world premiere on October 10th at Alice Tully Hall, as the final night film of the 63rd NYFF.

Plot and Cast

The movie focuses on a married couple with two boys who decide to separate, leading to unpredictable self-discovery in the middle of life. The script was written by Cooper, Arnett, and Mark Chappell, and is inspired by the true story of British comedian John Bishop. The film boasts a talented cast, including Andra Day, Christine Ebersole, Ciarán Hinds, Sean Hayes, Peyton Manning, and Amy Sedaris.

Premiere and Reception

Cooper expressed his excitement about premiering the film at the NYFF, stating, "We are honored and humbled to premiere our film at the New York Film Festival. At the beginning of this year, we had the wonderful opportunity to shoot this story in the whole city. Therefore, it is very exciting to debut it on the final evening of the festival." Dennis Lim, the artistic director of NYFF, added that the film is a "nice tribute to the comedy scene in New York City, a sensitive study of dissatisfaction in the middle of life, and a modern comedy of remarriage, which is perfect in its balance of humor and feelings."

The Festival

The 63rd NYFF, presented by Film at Lincoln Center, will run from September 26th to October 13th. The festival will showcase a variety of films, with Cooper’s movie being a highlight of the event. The film’s premiere is expected to be a major draw, with Cooper and the cast in attendance. With its unique blend of humor and heart, the film is sure to be a hit with audiences.
