Introduction to the Exhibition

A replica of the Tardis console from the popular BBC series Doctor Who is on exhibit at the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery. The console is part of the "Adventure in Time and Space" exhibition, which has been a huge success since its opening in May. The exhibition features a range of Doctor Who artifacts and has been so popular that the museum has extended its opening times, including Sundays.

The Tardis Console

The Tardis console on display is a replica of the one used by Tom Baker, the fourth Doctor in the BBC series. It was created using the original design blueprints and was brought to life by the engineering department at Anglia Ruskin University in Peterborough. The console is an exact replica of the one used in the show and is a must-see for any Doctor Who fan.

Other Exhibits

In addition to the Tardis console, the exhibition features a range of other Doctor Who artifacts, including costumes and props from the show. Visitors can also see other replicas of the Doctor’s time machine, as well as exhibits on the history of the show and its production. The exhibition has been curated by Derek Handley, who wanted to include as many monsters as possible from the show.

Special Events and Guests

The exhibition has also featured special events and guests, including a lecture by actress Sophie Aldred, who played the Doctor’s companion Ace. The event was accompanied by Sylvester McCoy, who played the seventh Doctor. More recently, two new characters joined the exhibition: Lord Kiv, a villain from the 23rd season, and a Curd, a robot from the sixth season.

Visiting the Exhibition

The exhibition will be on display until November 2, giving fans plenty of time to visit and experience the magic of Doctor Who. Aimi Rowe, display programmer at the museum, said: "For those who have not been, this is the perfect time to experience the exhibition." With its extended opening times and range of exhibits, the "Adventure in Time and Space" exhibition is a must-visit for anyone who loves Doctor Who.
