San Diego Comic Con Surprise

"The Boys" stole the show at San Diego Comic Con, dropping a teaser for their upcoming fifth and final season. The crowd in Ballroom 20 was treated to a short but action-packed preview, filled with superhero powers and gore. The teaser gave fans a glimpse of what’s to come, with quick looks at returning cast members and some new faces.

New Faces and Returning Favorites

The campaign showcased some exciting new additions to the cast, including Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, who are set to play unknown characters. Both actors are familiar faces, having worked together on the popular CW series "Supernatural". This is not the first time "The Boys" has tapped into the "Supernatural" talent pool, with showrunner Eric Kripke having previously cast Jensen Ackles and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the show. Seth Rogen, an executive producer on "The Boys", also made an appearance in the teaser.

A Glimpse of the Final Season

The teaser was full of intense and violent moments, including a new Supe character who vomits blood onto another character and a violent explosion in a bathroom stall. However, the most memorable part of the teaser was a powerful speech by Antony Starr’s Homelander, who is now working to create a safer and more godly nation. With the country under martial law, Homelander is determined to take down anyone who opposes him, including the Boys and other Supes who don’t want to "make America great again".

Cross-Show Synergy

The teaser also revealed a crossover between "The Boys" and its spin-off show "Gen V". At least one cast member from "Gen V" was spotted in the teaser, with London Thor appearing as a student at Godolkin University. This is not the first time the two shows have crossed over, with Maddie Phillips and ASA Germann set to appear in the final season of "The Boys" as Pro-Homelander executors who have turned against their fellow classmates and former friends.

What’s Next for "The Boys"

The final season of "The Boys" is set to premiere in 2026, with many of the original cast members returning, including Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, and Erin Moriarty. New faces joining the cast include Daveed Diggs and Paul Reiser. With the stage set for an epic conclusion, fans are eagerly anticipating the final season of "The Boys".
