India’s Jio-Studios and B62 studios have revealed a first look at the highly anticipated movie "Dhurandhar" with a high-octane teaser, coinciding with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh’s birthday celebration. The action thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar of "Uri: The Surgical Strike" fame, is set for a global theatrical release on December 5.
The Teaser and Cast
The 2-minute 40-second teaser provides a relentless visual rush, combining mysterious elements with gritty action sequences. Ranveer Singh leads an ensemble lineup, which includes Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. The first look offers an original composition by Shashwat, with vocals by Jasmine Sandlas, and features a collaboration with Hanumankind, an aspiring new-age artist whose genre-bending approach brings an edge to the project’s sonic landscape.
Production and Direction
Aditya Dhar serves as the writer, director, and producer of "Dhurandhar". The film is produced under the banner of B62 Studios, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also producing. Jio Studios presents the project. According to the production, "Dhurandhar" promises to uncover "the untold saga of unknown men", hinting at a narrative that focuses on undiscovered heroes or covert operations, a theme that has proven fertile ground for Dhar’s earlier success in the military genre.
Ranveer Singh’s Career
Ranveer Singh made his acting debut with Yash Raj Films’ romantic comedy "Band Baaja Baarat" (2010) and won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. After graduating from Indiana University Bloomington with a telecommunications degree, Singh worked in advertising for several years before pursuing his acting ambitions. He established himself as a leading star through his collaborations with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starting with "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" (2013) and continuing with acclaimed period dramas "Bajirao Mastani" (2015) and "Padmaavat" (2018).

His performance as a rapper in Zoya Akhtar’s Berlinale selection "Gully Boy" (2019) brought him another Filmfare Award for Best Actor, while his recent commercial success came with Karan Johar’s "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" (2023). He is married to frequent co-star Deepika Padukone, with whom he has a daughter, and is known for his extravagant fashion sense off-screen.
