A Bride’s Bizarre Demand

A bride has been roasted online after banning water bottles at her summer wedding, citing that they didn’t fit with the aesthetic she wanted to achieve. The ceremony, which took place in scorching 102°F heat, left guests struggling to stay hydrated.

The "Thirst Games"

The bride’s decision to prohibit plastic and reusable water bottles was met with outrage, with one guest reporting that someone almost passed out during the vows. The guest who shared the story on Reddit described the ceremony as "The Thirst Games," where the bride prioritized aesthetics over the well-being of her guests.

A Desert Chic Debacle

The wedding was meticulously curated, with a minimalist Pinterest-inspired theme featuring beige, red, and white colors. However, the lack of hydration stations and the ban on water bottles took a toll on the guests. An older guest had to be helped due to signs of heat exhaustion, and the groom’s mother was reprimanded for trying to bring out a water bottle.

Online Backlash

Commentators on the Reddit thread were quick to criticize the bride’s decision, calling it unreasonable and ridiculous. One user suggested that the bride could have provided glass water bottles that fit with the color scheme, while another joked that they would have spoiled the aesthetics by lying on the floor with their feet up, shouting for emergency services.

A Growing Trend of "Cash-Hungry" Couples

This incident is not an isolated one, as there is a growing trend of couples transforming their weddings into cash-grabbing opportunities. With the average American wedding costing over $26,000, many couples are coming up with creative ways to get their guests to foot the bill. From starting Gofundme pages for their honeymoons to charging guests for accommodation, these "cash-hungry" couples are taking the concept of wedding expenses to a whole new level.

The Dark Side of Wedding Etiquette

As the stories of these demanding brides and grooms continue to emerge, it’s clear that wedding etiquette has taken a dark turn. What was once a celebration of love and commitment has turned into an opportunity for couples to exploit their guests and prioritize their own desires over their well-being. As one commenter aptly put it, "The prohibition of water bottles wouldn’t even occur to me, not because it’s unreasonable, but because who the F even thinks about it?"
