Introduction to Good Girl Productions
The actress and filmmaker Tommy Dorfman has launched a new production banner called Good Girl Productions. This production company aims to extend the body thriller and graphic novel adaptations, offering a fresh perspective in the entertainment industry. Alyssa Raimann, from the Joy Coalition and STX, has been appointed as the vice president and will work closely with Dorfman to oversee the company’s projects.
Current Projects
The current slate of Good Girl Productions includes a psychological thriller called Aesthetics, based on Allie Rowbottom’s novel of the same name. Dorfman is set to write and direct this project, which follows a thirty-year-old who undergoes an experimental procedure that promises to reverse surgical and cosmetic body changes. Another project in development is Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me, a live-action adaptation of Mariko Tamaki’s graphic novel, which is being staged by Dorfman. Additionally, a television adaptation of James Frankie Thomas’s Idlewild is also in the works.
Recent Works and Collaborations
Dorfman recently premiered her feature film I Wish You All the Best at SXSW, which is set to be released in the autumn. She has also published her bestselling memoir I Might Be Okay, Maybe. Her latest acting credits include the off-Broadway production of Eva and the Tony-nominated show Romeo + Juliet. Good Girl Productions is collaborating with Tricky Knot, a company that specializes in entertainment funding and development, with a focus on production protocol banners led by actors.
