“How to train your kite” breathes fire at the UK Ireland evening box office with an opening of 5.7 million GBP fire.

Box Office Report: Great Britain and Ireland

The latest box office report for Great Britain and Ireland reveals the top five movies for the weekend of June 13-15. The rankings are based on the total box office gross revenue for each movie.

Top Five Movies

The top five movies for the weekend are:

  1. How to Train Your Kite (US) – £5.7m
  2. Lilo & Stitch (US) – £1.5m
  3. Mission: Impossible – The Last Billing (US) – £1.2m
  4. The Salt Path (UK) – £590,102
  5. Ballerina (US) – £580,303

Movie Analysis

How to Train Your Kite

Universal’s How to Train Your Kite took the top spot at the box office, with a total gross revenue of £5.7m. This is the largest opening of the four-film franchise company. The movie’s start is 7% higher than the previous opening of the franchise, How to Train Your Kite: The Hidden World, in 2019. With a total of £8.1m, including £2.4m from Monday to Thursday, the movie is expected to surpass the £17.4m of the first film and £20.1m of The Hidden World.

Lilo & Stitch

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch was released in cinemas on its fourth weekend and still managed to gross £1.5m, a decline of 58%. The movie has now exceeded the totals of animated comparisons Sing 2 (£33m), Shrek Forever After (£32.7m), and The Incredibles (£32.4m), with a total of £33.2m.

Mission: Impossible – The Last Billing

Paramount’s Mission: Impossible – The Last Billing fell 48% with £1.2m on its fourth weekend. The movie has now grossed a total of £22.6m and is expected to become the highest-grossing title in the franchise, surpassing Stand Out (£24.4m) and Dead Billing Part One (£26.6m).

The Salt Path

Black Bear’s relationship drama The Salt Path held fourth place and added £590,102 on its third weekend, a decline of 58%. The movie has now grossed almost £6m, a decent result for an independent title in the current market.

Ballerina

Lionsgate’s action title Ballerina fell 59% with £580,303 on its second weekend, bringing its total to £2.6m. The movie has overtaken the £1.6m of John Wick in 2015 but is expected to fall short of the totals of John Wick 2 (£6m), John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (£10.4m), and John Wick: Chapter 4 (£17.6m).

Island Storms Forth

Karate Kid: Legends was knocked out of the top five on its second weekend, with a gross of £471,543, a decline of 53%. The movie has now grossed a total of £4.9m.

Other Releases

  • Final Goal: Blood Lines added £304,539 on its fifth weekend, with a total of £11.1m.
  • The Ballad of Valais Island fell 3% with £239,791 on its third weekend, with a total of £905,734.
  • Peppa Meets the Baby Cinema Experience fell 69% with £153,259 on its third weekend, with a total of almost £2m.
  • Clown in a Corn Field added £129,641 on its second weekend, with a total of £657,225.
  • The Phoenician Program added £129,616 on its fourth weekend, with a total of £2.9m.
  • Sinner added £80,115 on its ninth weekend, with a total of over £16m.

New Releases

  • Tornado opened with £52,905 from 165 locations.
  • Hausfull 5 A added £56,054 on its second weekend, with a total of £354,180.
  • A Minecraft Film added £29,273 on its 11th weekend, with a total of £56.6m.
  • The Way We Talk opened with £19,314, including preview screenings.
  • Dangerous Animals added £14,640 on its second weekend, with a total of £203,207.
  • Overhaul opened with £8,009, including Sunday performances.
  • And There And: Nasty Eye added £7,490 on its second weekend, with a total of £109,797.
  • Cal opened with £5,409, including preview screenings.
