Annecy Film Festival Awards 2025

The Annecy Film Festival, a premier event for the international animation industry, has announced its winners for 2025. The festival, which took place in Annecy, France, showcased a diverse range of animated films, including feature-length movies, short films, and TV productions.

Feature Films

The top prize, the Cristal for Best Feature Film, was awarded to "Arco," a French animated film directed by Ugo Bienvenu. The Cristal for Best Short Film was awarded to "The Night Boots," directed by Pierre-Luc Granjon. The film was praised for its unique animation style and engaging storyline. Other winners in the short film category include "The Animals," which won the Jury Award, and "Sappho," which received the Alexeïeff – Parker Award.

TV and Commissioned Films

The Cristal for Best TV Production was awarded to "Christo the Civilized Barbar: ‘Hunting Party,’" directed by Shaddy Safadi. The film was praised for its unique blend of animation and live-action elements. Other winners in the TV and commissioned films category include "Lena’s Farm: ‘Full Nest,’" which won the Jury Award for a TV Series, and "An Almost Christmas Story," which received the Jury Award for a TV Special.

VR Works

The Cristal for Best VR Work was awarded to "Fragile Home." The film was praised for its innovative use of virtual reality technology and its engaging storyline.

Special Prizes

Several special prizes were awarded during the festival, including the Sacem Award for Best Original Soundtrack in a Short Film, which was awarded to Sebastian Hilli for "Doll House Elephant." The Sacem Award for Best Original Soundtrack in a Feature Film was awarded to Arnaud Toulon for "Arco."

Mifa Pitch Awards

The Mifa Pitch Awards recognize the best pitches for upcoming animated films. Winners in this category include "The Star Child," which won the Cinekid for Professionals Prize, and "Crocodile Dance," which received the Mifa – Best Pitch Prize.
