Introduction to the Collection
Kate Moss has released her second capsule collection with Zara for spring/summer 2025, inspired by her Bohemian Glastonbury style of the early Noughties. The 51-year-old supermodel has teamed up with her long-term collaborator, stylist Katy England, to design the women’s line again. For this collection, however, Moss has also designed pieces in collaboration with Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie, who is also married to England.
The Design Process
Moss and Gillespie posed in an English field and retro caravan for the campaign, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott – Moss’ favorite photographer. A video was also made on a Super 8 camera, featuring Moss singing to Gillespie’s guitar on a makeshift stage, evoking the hazy days of a summer festival. The collection is full of desirable classics and will be available for sale on Monday, June 9th.
The Collection
The Womenswear line includes fringe bikinis, a leather bra, metallic knee-high boots, and micro shorts with rivets. However, it’s not all rock ‘n’ roll – a cream-colored suit, top, and velvet shorts, as well as flower horners, are also part of the collection. The collection is a master class in contrasts – tender, but defiant and effortlessly unbalanced.
Behind the Collection
"This time it was a different process," says Moss of the collection, "because it’s spring/summer and festival season, I expected it to be more about flowy clothes. But it’s a bit tougher." Moss credits Gillespie’s male energy for bringing a new perspective to the collection. The couple was originally supposed to create separate collections for Zara Men and Zara, but when Moss saw Gillespie’s designs, she thought, "I really wanted so much of it that we decided to mix and match. It’s Bobby and Kate for Zara."
A New Venture for Gillespie
For Gillespie, this is his first foray into fashion, and he was full of ideas. "These are things that you can’t get anywhere else," says Gillespie. "It’s important to get a good tailor like this. Everyone deserves good clothes." The collection is a unique blend of Moss’s bohemian style and Gillespie’s rock ‘n’ roll edge, making it a must-have for fashion enthusiasts.
