Introduction to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund

The Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue have announced the finalists for this year’s Fashion Fund. This prestigious award celebrates its 20th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in supporting American fashion.

The Finalists

This year’s finalists include a diverse group of designers, representing various markets such as women’s clothing, men’s fashion, jewelry, and accessories. The selected designers are at different stages of their careers, reflecting the challenges faced by independent labels in the industry. The finalists are:

  • Julian Louie of Aubero
  • Bach Mai
  • Bernard James
  • Ashley Moubayed of Dont Let Disco
  • Gabe Gordon and Timothy Gibbons of Gordon
  • Stephanie Suberville of Heirlume
  • Jamie Okuma
  • Meruert Tolegen
  • Peter Do

The Selection Committee

The selection committee for this year’s award includes prominent figures in the fashion industry, such as Anna Wintour, Mark Holgate, and Nicole Phelps from Vogue; Eva Chen, head of fashion partnerships at Instagram; Aurora James, founder of the 15 Percent Pledge and Brother Vellies; model Paloma Elsesser; Rickie De Sole, Vice President and fashion director at Nordstrom; Roopal Patel, SVP of fashion at Saks; Thom Browne, CFDA chairman; and Zac Posen, Executive Vice President and Creative Director at Gap Inc and Chief Creative Officer at Old Navy.

The Award

The winner of the Fashion Fund will receive $300,000, while the two runners-up will each receive $100,000, along with business mentorships. The award aims to support and nurture emerging talent in the American fashion industry.
