SM Entertainment’s SMTOWN LIVE Concert
SM Entertainment, one of the "Big Three" K-Pop agencies in Korea, brought its members from 13 groups to perform at the Dignity Health Sports Park in California at the beginning of this month. The concert was part of the well-known SMTOWN LIVE concert series, which marked the agency’s 30th anniversary. It was the first time SM Entertainment had held a concert in California in 13 years.
A Full-Day Event for Fans
For fans who purchased the Red Ticket, it was a full-day event that started with some actors stopping by the fan barricade before 1 p.m. to say hello. Several groups teased new music and exciting appearances, giving fans a lot to look forward to. The lineup included TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee’s Key and Minho, EXO’s Suho, Chanyeol, and Kai, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, Aespa, Riize, and SMTR25.
Sneak Peeks and Performances
Aespa teased their future plans, with Winter saying, "We’re going to release music very, very soon, so please stay tuned." The group’s performance was described as "fire," with the crowd going wild for their hits like "Whiplash" and "Next Level." Riize, who recently released their first album "Odyssey," said it was a special opportunity to perform as a whole family in LA.
Classic Performances and Surprises
TVXQ, the oldest group in the lineup, performed their K-Pop classic "Mirotic" from 2008, getting the entire stadium to sing along. Red Velvet surprised the audience with their song "Bad Boy" from 2018, which they said was a special treat for their fans. The group told fans that they knew they would love it, especially since it was their first performance in LA in years.
New and Upcoming Groups
Hearts2Hearts, the youngest group from SM Entertainment, was excited to be in LA for the first time. The eight-member outfit was fresh from a Saturday appearance at Wango Tango and was looking forward to performing their last song, "Hope from Kwangya," where all the artists came together to say goodbye.
Grand Finale and Upcoming Concerts
The concert ended with all the artists coming together to perform "Hope from Kwangya" and waving goodbye to the fans. The next SMTOWN LIVE concert from SM Entertainment is set to take place in London on June 28th, with another one planned for Japan in August. Fans can expect more exciting performances and surprises from their favorite K-Pop groups.
