Ben Stiller Responds to Pat McAfee’s Comments

Ben Stiller, a well-known New York Knicks fan, was in attendance at the Eastern Conference final on Tuesday between the Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. He was accompanied by fellow New York celebrities Timothée Chalamet and Spike Lee. However, their presence did not go unnoticed, as Pat McAfee, a Pacers fan, took the opportunity to throw some shade their way.

McAfee’s Comments

During the game, McAfee grabbed the microphone and said, "Indianapolis, Indiana, we have some bigwigs from the big city in the building. Spike Lee is here. Ben Stiller is here. Timothée Chalamet is here. Let’s send these sons of bitches back to New York with bubble ears!" The crowd responded with resounding boos as each name was announced. The game ultimately ended in a Pacers victory, with a score of 130-121.

Stiller’s Response

Stiller took to social media to respond to McAfee’s comments, posting a video of the ordeal. He simply wrote, "Yes. Weird." He also mentioned that, apart from the comments, the Indy fans were great. Stiller expressed his pride in cheering for his team, saying "We were happy to be there and cheer our team… #Knicksin7."

Expanding on His Thoughts

Stiller further elaborated on his thoughts in a follow-up response. He stated that it was okay for McAfee to "play around," but if his comments were genuine, they seemed "a little anachronistic or clichéd." Stiller questioned why, as "big city celebrities," they shouldn’t be allowed to attend a game in the "heartland." When another user told him not to be "bitter," Stiller replied, "No bitterness. Great win for them."

The Aftermath

The exchange between Stiller and McAfee has sparked a lively discussion among fans. While some have come to Stiller’s defense, others have praised McAfee for his lighthearted jab. Regardless, it’s clear that the rivalry between the Knicks and Pacers is alive and well, both on and off the court.
