Changes are Coming to Saturday Night Live
Kenan Thompson, a long-time actor on "Saturday Night Live", has hinted at some significant changes that may be coming to Studio 8H. In a recent conversation with Page Six, Thompson suggested that the show’s cast and crew may be in for a shake-up as "SNL" prepares for its 51st season.
A New Era for SNL
Thompson, who has been with the show for over two decades, stated that "this year feels like there may be a lot of change next year." He expressed his desire for everyone to stay with the show forever, but acknowledged that people may make decisions to leave over the summer. Thompson compared it to wanting children to stay young forever, implying that change is a natural part of life.
Thompson’s Future with SNL
At the age of 22, Thompson has performed in more seasons than any other cast member in the show’s history. Although he has not committed to his 23rd season, he has left the door open for a potential return. "You just never know what the future holds," he said. Thompson also expressed his desire not to be in the way of others or become the "stale old man" on the show.
Thompson’s Love for SNL
Despite his decades-long commitment to "SNL", Thompson still considers the show one of his favorite places to be. He has always been a loyal defender of the show and recently came to its defense after musical guest Morgan Wallen abruptly left the stage during a cast call. Thompson downplayed the incident, stating that he didn’t know what was going through Wallen’s mind or if he truly understood the task at hand.
The Future of SNL
As "SNL" looks to the future, it’s clear that changes are on the horizon. With Thompson’s potential departure and other cast members potentially making decisions to leave, the show may be in for a significant overhaul. One thing is certain, however: Thompson will always look back on his time at "SNL" fondly, and the show will always be one of his favorite places to be.
