Introduction to Karol G’s New Era
Karol G has begun a new musical era with the premiere of her new single, "Latina Foreva". This celebration of Latina culture everywhere was produced by Mazzarri and Misha and features a sample of a viral video with "Euphoria" actor Alexa Demie. In the video, Demie asks, "Why does everyone ask me whether I’m Latina? Isn’t it obvious?"
The Music and Video
The hard-beating reggaeton song is supported by a music video featuring Karol G and friends skiing on snow-covered mountains, wearing extravagant and glowing outfits. The video was directed by Pedro Artola and shot in Mammoth Lakes, California. It also showcases the talented Flamenco guitarist Jose del Tomate.
Teasing the New Era
Karol G began teasing her new musical era by posting bold, orange-themed photos and videos on her social media accounts. In one Instagram post, she shared a sneak peek of the snow-covered music video, including a close-up of her panties embroidered with the name "Ivorny".
Previous Work
Before releasing "Latina Foreva", Karol G published the song "Milagros", which debuted in the credits of her Netflix documentary "Tomorrow was nice". The film, directed by Cristina Costantini, tells the story of Karol’s rise to the top of the music industry and her record-breaking "Mañana Será Bonito Tour", a stadium tour that has been a huge success.
Recent Releases
Karol G’s first release of the year was "Milagros", produced by Edgar Barrera. Although she didn’t release an album last year, she produced a hit single with the electro merengue "Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido". The song spent over 25 weeks at the top of the Latin American Airplay charts from Billboard, breaking the record for most weeks in first place since the list was published in 1994.
