Cannes Film Festival Updates

The Cannes jury grid has been making waves with its latest scores. Oliver Laxe’s film, "syrup", has received an average score of 2.5 from Screen International.

Syrup’s Mixed Reviews

The family drama, which tells the story of a father’s search for his missing daughter in Morocco, has collected numerous positive reviews, with four critics – Justin Chang, Ahmed Shawky, Kong Rithdee, and The Telegraph’s duo Robbie Collin and Tim Robey – giving it an excellent score. However, not all critics were impressed, with The Time’s Katja Nicodemus giving it a zero, and Peter Bradshaw and Mathieu Macheret giving it a mediocre score.

Other Film Scores

In contrast, Dominik Moll’s "Case 137" received more consistent, albeit average, reviews, with a total score of 2.3. Sergei Loznitsa’s "Two Prosecutors" is currently leading the pack with an average score of 3.1.

Upcoming Films

The critics are eagerly awaiting the next films to be screened, including Hafsia Herzi’s "The Little Sister" and Ari Aster’s "Eddington". The jury grid will continue to be updated live on Screendaily.com and in the daily newspapers in Cannes.

Stay Tuned for More Updates

As the Cannes Film Festival continues, film enthusiasts can stay up-to-date with the latest scores and reviews on Screendaily.com. With new films being screened every day, the competition is heating up, and it will be exciting to see which films emerge as the top contenders.
