Introduction to Sergei Loznitsa’s Latest Film

Sergei Loznitsa’s film, Two Prosecutors, has secured sales in several territories ahead of its world premiere in the Cannes competition. The film’s production company, COPRODUCTIONS Office, has sold the rights to various countries, including Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and others.

Film Distribution and Production

The film will be distributed by different companies in each territory, including Lucky Red in Italy, Aerofilms in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and Vertigo in Hungary. In addition, HBO Europa has acquired the rights for several European countries, while Filmstop will distribute the film in Estonia. The film’s production involved a collaboration between several companies, including SBS Productions, Banner Atoms & Void, Look Film, and others.

The Film’s Plot and Background

Two Prosecutors is based on a novel by Georgy Demidov and tells the story of a young prosecutor who challenges the system during Stalin’s great terror in 1937. The film follows the prosecutor as he discovers a letter from a desperate prisoner and decides to take action. The story is set in a tumultuous period in history and explores themes of justice, morality, and the human condition.
