Introduction to US President’s Visit to Great Britain
The head of Nvidia, the chipmaker, who has become the most valuable public company in the world, is one of the corporate chiefs who will accompany the US President Donald Trump in Great Britain. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, who led the stratospheric increase in his evaluation to more than $4 billion, will probably take part in a state banquet in Windsor Castle.
Corporate Chiefs Accompanying the US President
Sources said that Sam Altman, the head of OpenAI; Larry Fink, Chairman and Managing Director of Asset Management Behemoth Blackrock; and Stephen Schwarzman, the head of the private-equity giant Blackstone, were also invited to participate. Tim Cook, the Apple managing director, was also invited and can take part in the state banquet.
Expected Outcomes of the Visit
The participation of numbers such as Mr. Huang and potentially Mr. Altman will promote expectations that a wave of corporate agreements and investments in Great Britain will be revealed by Mr. Trump during the unprecedented second state visit. A closer cooperation between the nuclear power of the two countries is expected to be one of the most important focus of trade discussions as well as artificial intelligence and the wider technology industry during the three-day journey.
Challenges and Tensions
However, the visit of Mr. Trump will come under tensions about his tariff regime, with the effects on the British production sector, including steel. There are also persistent tensions between the British government and large drug manufacturers about pricing, and the US management put under pressure to reduce the price of prescription drugs in the USA.
Response from Companies
An Nvidia spokesman said: "We do not comment on our managers’ travel plans." Blackrock, Blackstone, Apple, and JP Morgan refused to comment, while OpenAI did not answer a request for comments.
