Post Malone’s London Shows Postponed

The US rapper and singer Post Malone has been forced to reschedule his two stadium shows in London due to planned tube strikes. The 30-year-old star was originally set to perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, September 7th, and Monday, September 8th. However, the promoter, Live Nation, announced that no event license could be issued without reasonable public transport.

Reason for the Postponement

The reason for the postponement is the planned strike by members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) who work on the London Underground. The strike, which is scheduled to take place from Sunday evening to Friday morning, is over issues of overpayment and working conditions. As a result, the shows have been rescheduled to take place on September 20 and 21, with refunds available for those who cannot attend the new dates.

Not the Only Artist Affected

Post Malone is not the only artist to have been affected by the tube strikes. Coldplay also recently moved the last two dates of their record-breaking 10-show run at Wembley Stadium. The band apologized for the "inevitable disappointment, frustration, and inconvenience" caused by the situation. Similarly, Post Malone’s promoters stated that it was "impossible to bring people to the concert and get them home safely" without London Underground services.

Fan Reaction

Some fans have expressed frustration at the timing of the postponement, given that the strikes were announced over two weeks ago. Coldplay postponed their shows on August 30th, while Post Malone’s shows were postponed on Friday morning. This has led some to question why the decision was not made sooner.

Post Malone’s Busy Schedule

The postponement of Post Malone’s London shows comes at a busy time for the artist. On August 26th, he was announced as a performer for the 2025 MTV VMAs (Video Music Awards), which will take place in New York on Sunday, September 7th. This would have coincided with his original Tottenham shows, which were postponed on Friday morning. Representatives for Post Malone have been contacted for a comment on the situation.
