Introduction to The Knife

The film The Knife has gained significant attention after winning awards at the Tribeca festival, including best new narrative director and best cinematography. This achievement is a notable milestone for former NFL player Namdi Asomugha, who made his feature debut in the film. The movie is now being represented by Hyde Park International for sales and is set to be showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) from September 4th to 14th.

The Plot and Cast

The story of The Knife revolves around a young family whose life is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of a stranger, leading to a tense and shocking night. As the tension builds, a determined detective works to uncover long-buried truths and the consequences of past decisions. The film features a talented cast, including Aja Naomi King, Manny Jacinto, and newcomers Amari Price and Aiden Price.

Production and Team

The Knife was written and produced by Namdi Asomugha and Mark Duplass through their company IAM21 Entertainment, in collaboration with Duplass Brothers Productions. The team behind the film includes Jonathan T. Baker, Ami Warsha, Mel Eslyn, Jay Duplass, and others. Carl Clifton from Hyde Park International praised The Knife as a "deeply worrying and stimulating" film that is also nuanced and thought-provoking.

Upcoming Sales and Projects

Hyde Park International is handling the sales of The Knife and has a slate of other projects, including the English-language remake of the J-Horror thriller Audition for Focus Features, Rubik’s in cooperation with the Fifth Season, and the feature adaptation of Richard Wright’s novel The Man Who Lived Underground. These projects demonstrate the company’s commitment to bringing unique and compelling stories to the screen.
