Austin Butler’s Uncomfortable Dance at Bad Bunny’s Concert
Austin Butler recently broke down the reason behind his uncomfortable dancing at a Bad Bunny concert, which has gone viral on social media. The Oscar-nominated actor appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he recalled his experience at one of the rapper’s shows in Puerto Rico.
The Concert Experience
Butler explained that he attended Bad Bunny’s show for his song "No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí" (I don’t want to leave here) in Puerto Rico. He had eaten with Bad Bunny earlier in the day and was excited to see the show. However, he didn’t know what to expect. "It’s crazy! They love him and see what it means to Puerto Rican culture," Butler said.
The Edible and the Dance
Butler revealed that someone gave him an edible shortly before the show, which he thought was a good idea at the time. However, he soon found himself on stage with Bad Bunny, and the edible started to take effect. "It was wild!" he exclaimed. Due to the edible, Butler’s "brain was in two films" – one where he was enjoying the music and the Puerto Rican culture, and the other where he was aware of being on stage and didn’t want to draw attention to himself.
The Inner Struggle
Butler explained that his body wanted to dance to the music, but his mind was telling him to hide. This inner struggle led to him awkwardly swaying his hips while keeping his arms crossed, resulting in clips of his uncomfortable dance going viral. "Because for some reason I had every time I didn’t cross my arms as if I were drawn to myself," Butler joked.
The Ben Affleck Comparison
Butler compared his experience to Ben Affleck’s viral moment at the Grammys, where he appeared to be having a bad time. "I don’t want to be the sad guy," Butler said. "But you don’t want to be the guy who dances crazy and draws attention." He poked fun at himself, saying that he didn’t want to be like Affleck, who became a meme for his apparently unenthusiastic facial expression.
Upcoming Film
Butler and Bad Bunny will be starring together in Darren Aronofsky’s new film, Caught Theft, which is set to release on August 29. Despite his awkward dance, Butler seems to have enjoyed his experience at the Bad Bunny concert and is looking forward to his upcoming film with the rapper.
