Introduction to Boardmasters Festival

The Boardmasters festival, a popular music event, has seen a significant decrease in anti-social behavior this year. According to the organizers, the festival experienced no confirmed incidents of Spike, a notable improvement from previous years.

Decrease in Medical Incidents

The police have confirmed that medical incidents related to drugs have also dropped, with no festival-goers being hospitalized during the five-day event. This decrease is a positive trend, indicating that the festival is becoming a safer space for attendees.

Reduction in Sexual Assaults

The festival has also seen a decrease in sexual assaults, which is an encouraging sign. However, the organizers emphasize that even one incident is too many, and they will continue to work towards creating a safe environment for all attendees.

Organizer’s Statement

Andrew Topham, CEO of Boardmasters, stated that the numbers prove that the organizers and welfare partners are making a real difference. He added that the festival aims to create a space where people of all ages can enjoy themselves without worrying about their safety.

Statistics on Spike Incidents

Compared to 55 suspected Spike incidents in 2024, this year saw only 14 suspected incidents. Additionally, in the past two years, no one has tested positively for drugs in their system. This significant decrease suggests that the festival’s efforts to reduce drug-related incidents are paying off.

Medical Center Visits

Out of the 58,000 participants, 1.79% were seen by local medical centers, which is a decrease from 2.65% in the previous year. This reduction in medical center visits indicates that the festival is becoming a healthier and safer environment for attendees.

Past Challenges

The organizers have faced challenges in the past, including a difficult year in 2025 with a series of incidents, including a crowd surge. However, the festival has learned from these experiences and is working towards creating a safer and more enjoyable space for all attendees.
