The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Expand Their Deal with Netflix

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, have announced that they are expanding their deal for films and television programs with Netflix. This new deal is described as a "last year, first look deal", which would give Netflix a first option for Prince Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Production Company’s suggestions. This agreement is more relaxed than their previous deal, but it refutes the claim that the Sussexes and Netflix will fully participate.

Details of the Deal

It is not known how many years the deal will take or what financial agreement is attached. The predecessor business completed in 2020 was assumed to be worth around $100 million (75 million GBP). Meghan said that she and Harry are inspired by the partnership with Netflix to "create thoughtful content via genres, which find resonance worldwide and celebrate our joint vision".

Upcoming Shows on Netflix

The announcement is made before the second series of the cooking show "With Love, Meghan", which will be shown later this month. The show is a lifestyle series that features Meghan cooking with prominent friends. Additionally, Archewell has announced a special Christmas edition of "With Love, Meghan", that invites the audience to "connect with Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration". Meghan will also be accompanied by a menu and beverage chain with love, which includes rosé wine and jams.

Past Performance of Sussexes’ Shows on Netflix

The Netflix’s target group showed that the first series of "With Love, Meghan" in the first half of 2025 was not even in the 300 most popular shows of the streaming service. The show had 5.3 million viewers, in comparison, the most viewed program on Netflix during this time was the drama "Adolescence" with 145 million views. An earlier Netflix documentary, "Harry & Meghan", which told the couple’s departure from their life as a "working royals", had a larger audience with 23.4 million views in December 2022.

New Show on Netflix

There will be a new show on Netflix later this year, with Harry and Meghan as producers, called "Masaka Kids", a rhythm, about an orphanage in Uganda, which in a situation is a relationship of hope in which the shadows of the HIV/AIDS crisis linger. Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer from Netflix, said: "Harry and Meghan are influential voices, the stories of which include the audience. The answer to their work speaks for themselves – Harry & Meghan gave the spectators a close look into their lives and quickly became one of our most viewed documentary film series."
