Honorary Award for Ray Winstone
Ray Winstone has received an honorary heart from the Sarajevo Award at the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival. The festival director, Jovan Marjanovic, praised Winstone, saying, "He is an actor who has captivated the audience for five decades with his great talent and undeniable presence."
Career Highlights
Winstone made his film debut in Alan Clarke’s drama "Scum" in 1979, playing the role of Carlin, a young man sent to a Borstal. Since then, he has appeared in numerous British independent films, including Gary Oldman’s "Nil by Mouth," for which he won the Best Actor BIFA and received a BAFTA nomination, and Jonathan Glazer’s debut "Sexy Beast."
International Recognition
Winstone’s talent has also been recognized internationally, with roles in films such as Martin Scorsese’s "The Departed" and "Cold Mountain," as well as "Snow White and the Huntsman," "Noah," and "Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
