Box Office Results

The latest box office results for Great Britain and Ireland are in, and it’s clear that comic book superheroes are dominating the charts. The top five films for the weekend of July 25-27 are:

  • The Fantastic Four: First Steps (US) – £6.1m
  • Superhuman (US) – £1.9m
  • The Evil 2 (US) – £1.6m
  • Jurassic World Rebirth (US) – £1.6m
  • F1: The Film (US) – £649,942

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

The Fantastic Four: First Steps has made a strong start at the box office in Great Britain, with an opening weekend of £6.1 million. This is the largest opening for a Fantastic Four title, surpassing the previous record by £2m. The film took an average of £9,173 from 665 locations and has a total of £8.1 million after opening on Thursday, July 24th.

Superhuman

Warner Bros’ Superhuman has fallen to second place in its third weekend, adding £1.9 million to its total of £21.4 million. This represents a significant decline of 61% from the previous weekend.

Other Films

Universal’s The Evil 2 opened to £1.6 million from 642 locations, with an average of £2,553. Jurassic World Rebirth added £1.58 million in its fourth session, bringing its total to £28.8 million. F1: The Film rounded off the top 5 with a session of £649,942, bringing its total to £19.7 million.

Other Notable Films

Saaiyaara

Indian romance Saaiyaara has seen an astonishing increase of around 161% on its second weekend, with £506,773 for Yash Raj films. This brings its total to over £1 million, an impressive figure for a non-English film.

Smurf

Paramount’s Smurf has led by 60% on its second weekend, with £481,000 going to £2.8 million in total.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

I Know What You Did Last Summer has declined by 60% on its second weekend, with £377,282 bringing its total to just under £2 million.

How to Train Your Kite

Universal’s live-action title How to Train Your Kite has added £299,397 on its seventh weekend, bringing its total to £21.4 million.

28 Years Later

Sony’s zombie film 28 Years Later has added £174,816 on its sixth weekend, bringing its total to £15.2 million.

Independent Films

Amadeus

Curzon’s new release of Amadeus has started with a decent £40,619 from 40 screens, with a screen average of £1,128.

Four Love Letters

Irish romance Four Love Letters has added £31,190 on its second weekend, bringing its total to £151,661.

Roger Waters This is Not a Drill: Live from Prague

Concert film Roger Waters This is Not a Drill: Live from Prague has taken £28,354 for Trafalgar Releasing, bringing its total to £78,986 including preview screenings.

Barry Lyndon

Park Circus’s new release of Stanley Kubrick’s epic from 1975, Barry Lyndon, has added £19,842 on its second weekend, bringing its total to £139,575.

Mission: Impossible – The Last Billing

Mission: Impossible – The Last Billing is approaching the end of its run after 10 weekends, with £14,000 bringing its total to £26.2 million.

Die

Matthias Glasner’s Berlinale title Die has started with £11,000 from 32 cinemas, with an average of £344 for Picturehouse Entertainment.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Early Death

Sony Anime’s latest release Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Early Death has started with a weekend of £5,361, bringing its total to £74,539 including preview screenings.

Irish: Climbing the Maroons

Peter Macjobs’ Nigerian drama Irish: Climbing the Maroons has taken £3,735 from 14 locations for Buff Studios, with an average of £267.
