UK-Ireland Box Office Preview: Marvels ‘Fantastic Four’ NEUSTART takes the first steps in 665 cinemas

New Movie Releases in the UK and Ireland

This week, several new movies are being released in the UK and Ireland, including the highly anticipated Marvel movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The movie is being distributed by Disney and is the second reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

The first Fantastic Four movie, released in 2005, opened with £3.5 million and ended with £12.7 million. The sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, opened with £4.1 million and closed with £12.4 million. The franchise was rebooted for the first time in 2015, with the movie opening at £1.9 million and ending with £6.2 million. The new movie stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and is directed by Matt Shakman.

Other New Releases

In addition to The Fantastic Four: First Steps, other new movies being released this week include The Bad Guys 2, which is a universal release in 647 cinemas. The movie follows a gang of animal criminals as they try to become good and become legal citizens. The movie features the voice talents of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Awkwafina, and Richard Ayoade.

Classic Movies Returning to Theaters

Several classic movies are also returning to theaters this week. Roger Waters from Pink Floyd is bringing his live show to 184 screens, with a film of his concert, Roger Waters This Is Not a Drill: Live from Prague. Warner Bros is releasing Steven Spielberg’s adventure movie, The Goonies, on 253 screens for its 40th anniversary. The Oscar-winning movie, Amadeus, is also being re-released in 40 cinemas.

International Films

Other international films being released this week include the Japanese animation, Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death, which is playing in 32 cinemas. The movie, Die, is a melodrama that follows a woman who enjoys her husband’s deteriorating health until her own well-being is questioned. The movie is playing in 32 cinemas.

Independent Films

Several independent films are also being released this week. The movie, Gas, is a thriller that tells the story of a young mother with an illness that affects her ability to perceive time. The movie is playing in 13 locations. The movie, What Does Nature Say to You?, is a film by Hong Sangsoo that is playing in 9 cinemas.

Upcoming Blockbusters

Summer blockbusters, such as Superhuman and Jurassic World Rebirth, are also among the most anticipated releases this week. The Sony horror movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer, is also expected to be a hit. Other movies, such as Irish: Climbing the Maroons and Zero, are being released in limited cinemas.
