The Festival’s History and Lineup
The Global Citizen Festival has a long history of featuring first-class performers. Last year’s lineup included Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Benson Boone, and Raye. This year’s festival promises to be just as exciting, with a diverse range of artists taking the stage.
The Festival’s Campaign Goals
The Global Citizen Festival 2025 campaign will focus on three main goals: providing access to energy for 1 million people in Africa, mobilizing $200 million to protect 30 million hectares of the Amazon rainforest, and providing access to education for 30,000 children around the world. The festival aims to raise awareness and funds for these important causes, and to mobilize people to take action.
Goal 1: Access to Energy in Africa
The "Scaling Renewables in Africa" campaign aims to mobilize $1.5 billion to train 50,000 young workers in critical energy skills such as solar installation, grid maintenance, and energy services. The campaign asks governments, companies, and philanthropists to commit to important investments in clean, affordable energy solutions for homes, schools, hospitals, and businesses.
Goal 2: Protecting the Amazon Rainforest
The Global Citizen Festival 2025 campaign aims to mobilize $200 million to protect 30 million hectares of the Amazon rainforest. The campaign partners with Re:Wild to support the next generation of indigenous and community-based entrepreneurs, and to protect the rainforest from deforestation. The campaign asks governments, companies, and philanthropists to protect the Amazon and support indigenous communities.
Goal 3: Access to Education
The Global Citizen Festival 2025 campaign aims to provide access to education for 30,000 children around the world. The campaign partners with FIFA to collect $100 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which will provide grants for community-based programs in over 150 countries. The campaign asks governments, philanthropists, and the private sector to finance essential services for healthcare, nutrition, and safe classrooms.
