Introduction to the Kiss Cam Scandal

The Coldplay front man, Chris Martin, gave his concert visitors a heads-up that could be seen on one of his band’s shows on the jumbotron. During the band’s show at the Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, Martin jokingly referred to the youngest kiss cam scandal, in which astronomer CEO Andy Byron was involved.

The Incident

On Saturday evening, the singer warned the fans carefree that during the band’s show, they would use their cameras and put some of them on the big screen. He said, "We would like to say hello to some of them in the crowd. How we will do this, we will use our cameras and put some of them on the big screen. Please, if you have not done your make-up, make your make-up now." This was an indication of the kiss cam scandal that has conquered the Internet in a storm and dominated social media in the past few days.

The Kiss Cam Scandal Explained

It all started on Wednesday during the Boston concert by Coldplay when the jumbotron caught Byron in a kiss cam segment with his arms around his best personnel manager, Kristin Cabot. However, when they realized that they were on the jumbotron, Byron ducked down so that he could not be seen, and Cabot turned and tried to hide her face. Both Byron and Cabot are reportedly married to other people. In videos about the online incident, Martin joked: "Either you have an affair or just very shy."

Aftermath of the Incident

The concert on Saturday in Madison was Coldplay’s first show since the incident. After a video of the incident had appeared online, Byron and Cabot were reported to be on vacation, and Byron has resigned since then. The astronomer said in an explanation that it was looking for his replacement. The explanation stated that "The astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have led us since we were founded. Our leaders are expected to determine both behavior and accountability, and this standard was not recently met."

The Astronomer’s Statement

The explanation continues: "Andy Byron has submitted its resignation and the board of directors has accepted. The board of directors continues to be an interim CEO as a co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete Deoy." The statement also mentioned that before this week, they became known as a pioneer in the data area of DataPs and helped the data of the data team, from modern analyzes to the production of AI. The incident has sparked a lot of discussion and debate online, with many people weighing in on the scandal.
