Introduction to the 82nd Venice International Film Festival
The 82nd Venice International Film Festival is set to take place from August 27th to September 6th, featuring a competitive lineup of films and jurors from around the world. Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof and Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres are among the notable figures participating in the festival.
Jury Members Announced
The seven-member jury will be led by chairman Alexander Payne, and will include filmmakers Stephane Brize from France, Maura Delpero from Italy, and Cristian Mungiu from Romania, as well as Chinese actress Zhao Tao. This esteemed jury will be responsible for awarding prizes such as the Golden Lion for the best film, the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize, and awards for best director, actress, actor, and script.
Horizons Jury and Debut Film Award
The Horizons jury will be headed by French filmmaker Julia Ducournau, and will include Italian filmmaker Yuri Ancarani, Australian director Shannon Murphy, US filmmaker Ramell Ross, and Argentine critic Fernando Enrique Juan Lima. Meanwhile, the jury for the Luigi de Laurentiis debut film award will be led by Aftersun director Charlotte Wells, along with French filmmaker Erige Sehiri and Italian filmmaker Silvio Soldini.
