Introduction to Urban
Picturehouse Entertainment has acquired the rights to distribute Harris Dickinson’s directorial debut, Urban, in the UK and Ireland. The film is set to premiere in cinemas on October 3. Urban has already gained recognition, winning awards for Best Actor and the Fipresci Prize in Cannes.
The Story Behind Urban
The film tells the story of a rough sleeper, played by Frank Dillane, who is searching for salvation. He faces both external forces and inner demons that keep him trapped in a cycle of self-destruction. According to Screen’s review, the film is "infused with an unexpected beauty".
Production and Cast
Urban was produced by Archie Pearch at Devisio Pictures, along with Scott O’Donnell from Somesuch. The film was developed by the BBC Film and financed by BBC Film, BFI, and Tricky Knot. Executing producers include Eva Yates, Ama Ampadu, Alexandra Tynion, and Olivia Tyson. Harris Dickinson’s previous acting credits include Baby Girl, The Iron Claw, Scrapper, and the Palm d’Or winner Triangle of Sadness. He is also set to play John Lennon in an upcoming film about the Beatles.
