OneRepublic Signs with BMG

Introduction to the New Partnership

OneRepublic, the popular pop-rock band led by Ryan Tedder, has signed a new global recording partnership with BMG. This move marks a significant shift for the band, which had been with Universal Music Group’s Interscope for almost two decades. The new partnership is set to bring about exciting changes for the band and its fans.

Details of the Partnership

BMG announced on Thursday that OneRepublic’s upcoming seventh album will be released through the company. The lead single, "Beautiful Colors," is scheduled to drop on July 25th. This new album and single mark the beginning of a new era for the band, and fans are eagerly anticipating the release.

Statement from Ryan Tedder

Ryan Tedder expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating, "We are pleased to join the BMG family to continue to publish music that will love our fans." He also praised Jon Loba, BMG’s president of frontline recordings, and Zach Katz, EVP, Recorded Music, West Coast, for their support throughout the process. Tedder revealed that the new single, "Beautiful Colors," is inspired by the Japanese Anime series "Kaiju No. 8" and that the band is excited for fans to hear it.

Background on OneRepublic

OneRepublic has been with Mosley Music Group/Interscope since 2007, when the label released the band’s debut album "Dreaming Out Loud." During their time with Interscope, the band released some of their biggest hits, including the four-time platinum-certified debut single "Apologize" and the diamond-certified "Counting Stars." Their last album with Interscope was 2021’s "Human," but they also released "Artificial Paradise" in 2024, which included the hit single "I Ain’t Worried." This single was originally featured in the movie "Top Gun: Maverick" and has garnered over 2 billion streams on Spotify.

BMG’s Perspective on the Partnership

Jon Loba praised OneRepublic, stating, "OneRepublic is one of the most dynamic and enduring bands of the past two decades with a global footprint, a string of chart-topping hits, billions of streams, and a deep catalog of era-defining music." He emphasized that the band’s ability to evolve, innovate, and connect with audiences worldwide aligns perfectly with BMG’s artist-first philosophy.

Exciting New Chapter

Zach Katz described the new deal as "an exciting new chapter – not just for the band." He highlighted that the partnership with OneRepublic strengthens BMG’s ability to work with top-tier artists and deliver high-quality results. Katz expressed BMG’s commitment to supporting OneRepublic’s creative vision and ensuring that their upcoming album reaches fans on a scale like never before.
