Cinema Lorber has acquired the North American rights to the documentary film "Put your soul on your hand and go", directed by Iranian filmmaker Sepideh Farsi. The film tells the story of life under siege in Gaza, presenting a first-hand perspective through video calls between Farsi and her girlfriend, photojournalist and poet Fatma Hassona.

The film showcases the daily life of Fatma Hassona, who was tragically killed along with her family in an Israeli air raid on her house on April 16. The documentary provides a unique glimpse into the life of a family living under siege, highlighting the struggles and challenges they faced.
Acquisition and Release
Kino Lorber will release the film in theaters, followed by a digital, educational, and home video rollout. The Vice President of Acquisitions, Karoliina Dwyer, negotiated the deal with Sebastien Chesneau of Cercamon. Dwyer emphasized the importance of sharing Fatma’s story, especially in light of her tragic death and the ongoing destruction of the Gaza Strip.
The Director’s Vision
Sepideh Farsi, the director of the film, explained that "Put your soul on your hand and go" is a film that tries to reach people despite the physical blockade. Farsi, who left her home in Iran at the age of 18 after being detained as a dissident at 16, has previously directed films such as "Tehran without permission" and "The siren".
