Film Analysis

How to Train Your Kite held its position in third place, with a total box office gross of £1.5m, a drop of 26% from the previous weekend. The film has now grossed a total of £18.2m and is expected to overtake the £17.4m gross of the original animated film from 2010.

Elio had a slow start but has shown good hold, with a drop of only 10% from the previous weekend. The film added £691,020 to its total gross, which now stands at £3m.

The total box office gross for the top five films was £15.9m, an increase of 50% from the previous weekend. This is the highest total since the release of Lilo & Stitch and Mission: Impossible – The Last Billing at the end of May. The box office has also shown a significant increase of over 100% compared to the equivalent weekend last year, indicating a continued recovery of the box office.

The Ballad of Valais Island was one of the few films to show an increase, with a rise of 2% from the previous weekend. The film added £92,131 to its total gross, which now stands at £1.7m. The Salt Path added £80,000 to its total gross, a drop of 47%, which brings its total to £7.7m.
