Coventry Music Festival Returns with a Bang
The Coventry Music Festival, also known as the Godiva Festival, is back and better than ever. This year’s festival will feature a third stage, called the Cov Connex Kingston stage, which will showcase local musicians from Coventry and its twin city, Kingston, Jamaica.
A Stage for Local Talent
The Cov Connex Kingston stage will feature around 40 artists from Coventry, performing a variety of music styles, including rap, grime, Afrobeat, reggae, and DJs and MCs. This stage is made possible by a grant of almost £30,000 from the National Lottery, awarded to the organizers by the Arts Council England. Councilor Abdul Salam Khan expressed his excitement about the return of the stage, saying it’s "something very special" and will be a big attraction for music lovers.
Headlining Acts
This year’s festival will feature headlining acts such as Marc Almond, Clean Bandit, and Ocean Color Scene. The festival will take place in Memorial Park, Coventry, from Friday to Sunday. In addition to the Cov Connex Kingston stage, there will also be a second stage called COV level, which will showcase local talents.
A City with a Rich Music Scene
Councilor Naeem Akhtar described Coventry as a "big music city", and the Godiva Festival is one of the many events that make it special. The festival is loved by many and offers a variety of attractions for families and visitors of all ages. With the music stages and other activities, it promises to be another memorable weekend for the city. The festival is a celebration of local inspiration, alongside the sounds of Jamaica, and is an event not to be missed.
