Introduction to Anthony Ramos

Anthony Ramos, a 33-year-old Broadway star, is known for his roles as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Tony-winning musical Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda in 2015. Recently, Ramos appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where he shared an interesting anecdote about his time performing in Hamilton.

The "Worst" Celebrity Encounter

Ramos was asked about the "worst" celebrity he had to recognize in the audience during his 15-month run in Hamilton. After a brief moment of thought, he named Madonna, claiming that she had her face buried in an iPad throughout the show. He recalled, "She was like that the whole time," and mimicked the pop icon looking at an iPad in her lap.

Reaction to Madonna’s Behavior

Ramos joked, "I said, ‘Damn, Shawty, if you’re not enjoying it that much, you know the door is right there. You don’t have to stay here!’" The Independent has reached out to Madonna’s representative for a comment on the incident.

Recent Projects and Performances

Ramos recently reunited with his former Hamilton castmates, including Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Leslie Odom Jr., at the 2025 Tony Awards. They performed a medley of songs from the Hamilton soundtrack to celebrate the musical’s 10-year anniversary. Although Ramos did not have a lead part in the performance, it was still a memorable moment for the audience.

Career After Hamilton

After his time in Hamilton, Ramos went on to lead the film adaptation of Miranda’s other hit musical, In the Heights, in 2021. He has also released his own music and appeared in films like Twister (2024) and Spike Lee’s latest crime drama, Highest to Lowest. According to IMDB, Ramos has six upcoming projects, including the thriller drama House of Dynamite and the big-screen adaptation of the popular children’s series Bob the Builder, where he will play the title role of Bob.

Conclusion

Anthony Ramos has come a long way since his Broadway debut in Hamilton. With his versatile talents and charming personality, he continues to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry. From his memorable performances to his upcoming projects, Ramos is definitely an artist to watch in the years to come.
