Brad Pitt Interested in Acting with Tom Cruise Again
Brad Pitt expressed his interest in acting with Tom Cruise again, as long as it doesn’t require performing dangerous air stunts. The two A-list actors previously worked together in the 1994 horror drama "Interview with the Vampire" but have not reunited on screen since.
Past Collaboration and Future Possibilities
Pitt stated, "Well, I’m not going to hang my ass from airplanes and do that shit," when asked about working with Cruise again. He added that he would be willing to collaborate if the project doesn’t involve extreme stunts. The two actors have a history of working with notable directors and producers, including Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer, who are behind Cruise’s record-breaking film "Top Gun: Maverick".
The Making of "F1" and "Top Gun: Maverick"
Pitt’s upcoming film "F1" was developed while Cruise’s "Top Gun: Maverick" was in post-production. "Top Gun: Maverick" earned $1.4 billion at the global box office in the summer of 2022. Kosinski revealed that he originally planned to cast Cruise and Pitt in his version of "Ford against Ferrari", but the studio never approved the budget. Instead, James Mangold directed "Ford against Ferrari" with Christian Bale and Matt Damon.
Working with Tom Cruise
Kosinski described Cruise as someone who "always pushes the envelope, but at the same time is super capable and very clever". He added that both Cruise and Pitt have a natural talent for driving, but Cruise might be more reckless. Graham Kelly, the film’s action vehicle manager, joked that working with Cruise is stressful, saying, "Tom pushes it to the limit. I mean, to the limit. I’ve done a lot of ‘Mission: Impossibles’ with Tom, and it’s the most stressful experience for someone who builds cars for him, does stunts with him".
Upcoming Releases
Pitt’s "F1" is set to hit theaters on June 27. Cruise recently opened his own summer blockbuster, "Mission: Impossible – The Last Billing", in which he performed a stunt dangling from the side of a moving plane.
