Cancellation of Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival
The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival was canceled due to severe weather concerns. The festival announced the news in an Instagram post on Friday after publishing a series of weather delays and an evacuation note.
Reasons Behind the Cancellation
On Thursday, the first official day of the event at the Bonnaroo Farm in Manchester, Tennessee, which was supposed to last until Sunday, was only one of the four headliners Luke Combs who delivered a performance before the event was canceled. "Today the National Weather Service made us an updated forecast with considerable and steady rainfall that creates deteriorating camping and exit conditions in the coming days," wrote Bonnaroo in her post. "We are not disappointed, but we have to make the safest decision and cancel the rest of Bonnaroo."
Refund Policy
Bonnaroo also announced that they would be refunding all tickets on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to everyone via front gate tickets, although those who bought four-day admission tickets and camping accommodation via the ticketing service will only receive a refund of 75 percent.
Performers at the Festival
In addition to Combs, Tyler, the creator Olivia Rodrigo and Hozier, presented in Bonnaroo, although these were deported. The other sealed performers included vampires Weekend, Glorilla, Tyla, Raye, Avril Lavigne, Queens of the Stone Age, John Summit, Justice, Dom Dolla, Glass-Tiere, and the Red Tonstreuner.
Message to the Bonnaroo Community
"The number one we need from the Bonnaroo community is patience. Some of the camper sightseeing are in a rough spot," they added in their statement. "The rain has settled in areas and made certain parts of Outeroo difficult to manage. We want to set priorities to get these people from the farm this evening as soon as possible."
Conclusion
"We have made our hearts and souls make the special of the year this weekend and cannot express how destroyed we are to have made this decision," concluded the explanation. "Thank you in advance for your patience, your positivity, and her infallible Bonnaroov Spirit."
