Museum in Motion
A competition is underway to design the wrap for a museum on wheels. The popup program brings objects, exhibitions, and activities to schools, towns, and villages in a van while the Herefordshire Museum is closed for renovation.
About the Competition
The winner will receive a prize of £200 and have their design showcased throughout the district when the Museum on Wheels tours Herefordshire later this year. Damian Etherington from Herefordshire Council said that the competition is a brilliant opportunity for local creativity to shine and he can’t wait to take the winning design on the road.
How to Enter
The competition is now open, and the final date for entries is July 27th. To participate, send an email to herefordmuseums@herefordshire.gov.uk to request entry details, templates, and instructions. This is a great chance for local artists to get creative and have their work seen by the community.
What to Expect
The Museum on Wheels will travel to various locations, bringing a taste of the museum to people who may not be able to visit the physical location during the renovation. The van will be equipped with interactive exhibits, artifacts, and activities that showcase the rich history and culture of Herefordshire.
A Unique Opportunity
The competition and the Museum on Wheels initiative offer a unique opportunity for people to engage with the museum in a new and innovative way. Whether you’re an art student, a history buff, or just someone who loves design, this is a chance to get involved and be a part of something exciting.
