Introduction to Lost Americana
Bob Dylan has narrated the trailer for MGK’s upcoming album, "Lost Americana", according to sources close to the matter. In a teaser clip uploaded to MGK’s social media, Dylan lends his distinctive voice to a dramatic reading that describes "Lost Americana" as a "personal excavation of the American dream".
Description of the Album
"It is a tonal map of forgotten places, a tribute to the spirit of reinvention and a search to regain the essence of American freedom," Dylan says in the clip, which features a VHS-style montage of MGK in the studio and overlooking a mountain summit. "From the glow of the neon lights to the rumble of the motorcycles, this music celebrates the beauty that can be found in the gaps. Where the past is reinterpreted and the future is forged on its own terms."
Confirmation of Collaboration
Although MGK has not publicly confirmed that Dylan narrated the clip, his social media post ends with "Talks of …" without revealing a name. He also shared a black and white photo of Dylan on his Instagram stories without making any revelatory statements.
History of Collaboration
This is not the first time that the two artists have made headlines together. In February, Dylan posted a video of MGK browsing through CDs at a record store in Orlando, Florida, without adding a caption. MGK responded with a comment, "You have a phone like this."
Album Release
"Lost Americana", the follow-up to MGK’s 2022 album "Mainstream Soldout", is set to be released on August 8th. The album will feature his latest single "Cliché", as well as other songs he has shared this year, including "Your Name Forever", "Come Pick Me Up", and a cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ "Iris" with Julia Wolf.
