Calling All Filmmakers: Norman British Film Festival Now Open for Submissions

About the Festival
Filmmakers from the Channel Islands are invited to submit their work for the Fish and Films short film festival, taking place from December 5th to 7th in Granville, Normandy. The free-to-enter festival is open to short films made in Normandy or the British Islands, or films with at least one crew member from these regions.
The organizers will select around 20 films to showcase at the festival, along with a series of conversations and workshops. Granville, where the festival will take place, is located in the Manche department of Normandy, just 12 to 75 km from the Channel Islands and visible on clear days.
Awards and Recognition
The festival will award three winning films, each receiving £500 (€593) and a unique trophy designed by a local artist. The awards aim to recognize and celebrate the best of British and Norman filmmaking talent.
Who Can Apply?
The organizers are looking for films that meet the following criteria:
- Produced in Normandy or the United Kingdom, or made with the help of Normans or British crew members
- Completed after January 1, 2024
- Up to 30 minutes long
- With subtitles (in French for English-language films or English for French films)
- In any genre, including fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental
The deadline for submissions is June 30th. Interested filmmakers can submit their work through the festival’s website.
