Introduction to Sabrina Carpenter’s New Music

The pop star Sabrina Carpenter has released a new music video for her single "Manchild", just a day after the song’s release. This could potentially make "Manchild" the song of the summer. In the cinematic video, Carpenter performs in a desert landscape, accompanied by "Himbos" who are washing cars with petrol or smoking cigarettes.

The Music Video and Song

The video features Carpenter singing and performing in various settings, including pickup trucks, ward clocks, and a shopping cart with a motorcycle. The song itself is a catchy tune, with Carpenter singing about stupid, no-good men, paired with her signature funny and cheeky lyrics. The song was written by Carpenter, along with Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff, who she collaborated with on her previous album "Short n’ cute".

The Creation of "Manchild"

Carpenter took to Instagram to explain how the song was created, stating that she wrote "Manchild" on a spontaneous Tuesday with Allen and Antonoff, not long after finishing her album "Short n’ cute". She described the experience as the "best accidental Tuesday of my life", and said that the song has become something she can look back on and reflect on the confusing and funny young adult years.

Inspiration and Release

Carpenter described the song as feeling like an "infinite road trip in the summer" and said that she wanted to release it now so that fans can "stick their head out of the car window and scream it all summer". She also referenced "thank you men for testing" with a pig and heart emoji, suggesting that the song is inspired by her own experiences with men.

Sabrina Carpenter’s Rise to Fame

The pop singer’s profile exploded last summer after the release of her single "Espresso" from the album "Short n’ cute". The single and album received two Grammy Awards, and she was nominated for six awards, including best new artist and album of the year. Although "Espresso" did not reach number one, it is still her best-performing song, with over 2.2 billion streams on Spotify.

Upcoming Shows

Carpenter is scheduled to play additional US shows in her "Short n’ sweet" tour this autumn, including performances at New York’s Madison Square Garden and LA’s Crypto.com Arena. Fans can look forward to seeing her perform her new song "Manchild", as well as other hits from her album "Short n’ cute".
