Introduction to the Case
A former girlfriend of Sean "Diddy" Combs, testifying under the pseudonym "Jane", has shared her experiences during his ongoing criminal proceedings. She described feeling pressured into arranging sexual encounters with male escorts, which left her feeling angry and unhappy. Jane also claimed that a network of employees helped obtain drugs for these lengthy encounters, known as "hotel nights" or "freaky offs", which resulted in her experiencing pain and frequent infections.
The Charges Against Diddy
Prosecutors have accused Mr. Combs, 55, of conspiracy, sex trafficking, and using means of transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The defense argues that the government is attempting to present consensual sex between adults as evidence of crimes.
Jane’s Testimony
Jane testified that she organized a "hotel night" in New York in 2023, where she invited a male sex worker to join her and Mr. Combs. She paid for his ticket and worked out an arrangement for him to receive several thousand dollars for the encounter. On another occasion, Jane alleged that Mr. Combs’ assistant, Kristina Khorram, instructed her to pick up a package containing drugs from Los Angeles to bring to Mr. Combs’ Miami mansion.
The Use of Drugs and Coercion
Jane told the court that she often saw Mr. Combs call his assistants and security to bring drugs to the hotels where they had encounters with escorts. She also claimed that Mr. Combs used financial coercion to control her, paying her $10,000 per month in rent and providing a monthly allowance of $10,000 as part of a "love contract". If she opposed the hotel nights, Mr. Combs would threaten to cut her off financially.
The End of the Relationship
Jane said that she eventually tried to end the relationship, but Mr. Combs replied with messages that she interpreted as threats to cut her off financially. In 2024, towards the end of their relationship, Mr. Combs told her that he hadn’t known that the hotel nights had upset her, despite her expressing her unhappiness in messages and notes.
Physical and Emotional Toll
Jane testified that the "hotel nights" took a physical toll on her, leaving her with frequent infections and pelvic pain "100%" of the time after the encounters. She also felt emotionally drained, describing herself as "disgusted" and "rejected" after the encounters. Another witness, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, also testified about similar sexual encounters with Mr. Combs that she had agreed to over the course of more than a decade.
The Trial Continues
The trial is ongoing, with Jane’s testimony set to continue next week. Mr. Combs’ defenders are expected to grill her extensively, and the rapper will likely face tough questions as well. The case against Mr. Combs is complex, with prosecutors attempting to prove that he led a criminal enterprise and conspired to commit crimes. The defense argues that the government is overreaching and attempting to present consensual sex as evidence of crimes.
