Actor Devin Lee Harjes Passes Away at 41

Devin Lee Harjes, a talented actor known for his roles in several popular shows, has died at the age of 41. He was recognized for his work in shows such as Manifest, Boardwalk Empire, and Daredevil.

Cause of Death

Harjes passed away due to an illness at Mount Sinai West Hospital in New York City on Tuesday. He had been diagnosed with cancer in February, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Career Highlights

Harjes had a notable career in television, with roles such as Jack Dempsey in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and Oscar, a nurse who worked on Rikers Island in Daredevil. He also played Clyde, a guard at a bank in DC’s Gotham. His other acting credits include Orange is the New Black, Blue Blood, FBI, Elementary, Rebel in the Rye, Boys of Summer, The Forest is Red When the Shadow Falls, and Surprise Surprise, Mr. Conovy.

Early Life and Education

Harjes was born on July 29, 1983, in Lubbock, Texas. He grew up with a love for animals, particularly horses. However, after discovering his passion for drama, he pursued it in college and moved to New York City to start his professional career. He began by working on student films, off-Broadway shows, and independent films. His recent work included a role as Pete Baylor in nine episodes of NBC’s Manifest Season three.

Survivors

Harjes is survived by his parents, Randy and Rosanne Harjes; his sister and her husband, Trish Harjes and Justin Kelley; his nephews, Tristin and Sawyer Kelley; his nieces, Rory and Charly Kelley; his ex-wife and Gotham actress, Shiva Shobitha; and his cat, Maude.
